The Sydney Kings are bracing for another record crowd at Qudos Bank Arena, with Sunday’s Championship decider expected to be one of the biggest games in club history.
With the best-of-five series locked at 2-2, Game 5 on Easter Sunday is a winner-takes-all showdown, and demand for tickets is already building fast following last the home game’s historic crowd of 18,373.
Sydney Kings CEO Mark Thompson said Sydney has rallied behind the team.
“Game 3 was the biggest crowd in NBL history, and the energy in the building was something special,” Thompson said.
“We’re expecting another huge crowd on Sunday, and in the first few hours of sales, tickets are moving extremely quickly already.”
Kings fans have turned Qudos Bank Arena into one of the most formidable home courts in the league, with the crowd playing a defining role throughout the finals series.
Now, with everything on the line, the stage is set for an historic moment.
“This is what you play for,” Thompson said. “A deciding game, at home, in front of your fans who have been with you all the way,”
“You can feel what it means to our fans right now. The atmosphere on Sunday will be something you don’t want to miss.”
