The Brydens Lawyers Sydney Kings have announced two new Development Players, Jayden Hodgson and Ignatius Mitchell, for the 2021-2022 Hungry Jacks NBL season.
Jayden Hodgson (pictureed above) is a two-way craft scoring guard.
He attended the Australian Institute of Sport, and was previously a Development Player for the Kings.
He went on to play in college with Bradley University’s Bradley Braves basketball team for three seasons, before transferring to Grand Valley State University for his senior year.
Hodgson has represented Australia, winning sliver in the FIBA U17 World Championships in Dubai.
CEO Chris Pongrass welcomed Jayden to the group: “Jayden has been around our group for a number of years now, and played himself into a development spot with us.”
“He is unselfish, determined and out-works guys every day – he proved he is committed to getting to the next level and we are excited for what he brings to our playing squad this season.”

Ignatius Mitchell is an athletic and defensive minded guard who pushes the pace in the open court. He has played for the NSW state teams in the U16s, U18s and U20s.
Lachie Lonergan, the Kings’ Lead Video Coordinator and Special Assistant to the Head Coach coached Mitchell with the Sydney Comets.
"He's someone who I've always thought has a great chance of playing professionally,” Lonergan told Kings media.
"I mentioned him to Chase [Buford], CP [Kings CEO Chris Pongrass] and the group and after we all watched film on him along with the other candidates, we thought he was a great option for us."
Mitchell will retain his amateur status with the intent of attending college in the US next year.
Hodgson and Mitchell complete the Kings’ roster for NBL22 ahead of the Kings’ first home game at Qudos Bank Arena this Sunday against the reigning champions Melbourne United.
