Cooks marks maiden NBA start with first-ever double-double

Xavier Cooks has ended the NBA season on a high, registering a double-double in the Washington Wizards' clash against the Houston Rockets.
The NBL23 MVP got his chance to shine in the Wizards' final game of the year, named as a starter and playing 35 minutes.

He registered 10 points and 14 rebounds, including seven on the offensive end, as well as two steals and two blocks - in the Wizards' 114-109 loss at the Capital One Arena.

The former Sydney King's performance follows up his 10-point, nine-rebound effort in a win over Miami on the weekend.
The 27-year-old has progressively stepped up his production across his 10 NBA games so far, enjoying more minutes as the Wizards mix up their roster to close the season.
He will now return to Australia to start preparations for the 2023-24 season with the Wizards.
