Australia’s latest multi-sport, subscription news site has joined forces with Kings and Flames.
CODE will be an official partner of the Brydens Sydney Uni Flames and the Brydens Lawyers Sydney Kings for the 2021-22 WNBL and NBL22 seasons.
CODE, which will feature long-form stories aimed at “unlocking the stories of sport”, was announced in Sydney by parent company News Corp earlier this month.
The digital news platform pledges to give the stories of sport the room they need to breathe and will be a space for the true sports lover, more than just fans.
As part of the sponsorship with the Flames and Kings, CODE will be extending their one-month free trial for Flames and Kings members.
Available via App and website, CODE will deliver emotive, in-depth, long-form sports journalism like never before and will be led by experienced publisher, editor and journalist Alex Brown.
“CODE’s mission is simple: to tell amazing, insightful stories about the sports Australians love and the people who make them happen,” he said.
“CODE will unlock the stories of sport. Our award-winning team of journalists and content creators look forward to building a thriving and engaged community through these great stories, ensuring an experience the audience will love.”
Kings CEO Chris Pongrass said it was an honour to have an exciting new brand backing basketball in the Hoops Capital.
“We are thrilled to have CODE as part of our team,” Mr Pongrass said.
“We are looking forward to showcasing CODE and having the many and varied stories of both the Kings and Flames players told through this exciting new platform.”
Kings import RJ Hunter will be one of the first basketball stories to feature on the new platform and Flames star guard Shyla Heal featured in the CODE launch campaign.
CODE will feature stories from across News Corp’s publishing and broadcast assets, including The Times and The Wall Street Journal. SuperCoach+, Match Centres, bespoke podcasts and the latest video from Fox Sports and Kayo will also form part of CODE’s offering, available via a stand-alone web-and mobile site at www.codesports.com.au and via the CODE app.
