Changes made to All-NBL Team selection process

The best players in the Hungry Jack’s National Basketball League will have a greater chance of being appropriately recognised after a significant change to the selection criteria for All-NBL Teams.
Beginning this season, the All-NBL First Team and Second Team will become position-less, meaning any five players can be selected regardless of what position they play (i.e. guard, forward, centre).
Previously, players were identified as ‘inside’ or ‘outside’, with the teams consisting of three 'outside' players and two 'inside' players.
“Making the All-NBL Teams position-less ensures we are able to reward the best players in the competition, regardless of where they play, and be more aligned with the way modern basketball is played,” NBL chief operating officer Vince Crivelli said.

“With the athleticism and versatility of players, we often see teams move away from traditional line-ups and utilise the best five players on their roster, regardless of position.
"The new All-NBL Teams will now follow the same formula and recognise the best of the best.
“It also means certain stars are not missing out on deserved selections due to position groupings and it will also enhance the debate around, and competitiveness of the All-NBL Teams.”
The Kings' NBL24 resumes on Friday when Mahmoud Abdelfattah's team heads west to RAC Arena to battle the Perth Wildcats from 9.30pm AEDT on Friday - with the match being broadcast on ESPN via Kayo Sports.
