WEBINAR 1) The Business of Sport, with special guest Paul Smith

While he may be a new name in basketball circles, Paul Smith has been in the business of sport for more than 30 years before investing in ownership of the Sydney Kings and Sydney Flames. 

In 1996 he founded Total Sport and Entertainment (TSE) a business designed to make sponsorship easy for brands. His experience in working with brands in golf was that many simply didn't understand the value of sponsorship and their business model wasn't geared to take advantage of the sponsorship opportunity.

TSE has worked with some of Australia's leading brands over the past 25 years, with a major transformation of the business in 2016 seeing the company diversify and ultimately led to the Kings acquisition.

While TSE is a business story all on its own, Paul's journey took a turn in 2004 when he founded sports research agency Repucom. Repucom was created when Paul identified a critical gap in the media market, a measurement of the value of sponsorship in sport and entertainment.

Repucom went on to become the global leader in sports marketing research and consulting which Paul will talk about in more detail in this upcoming webinar.
