Bruce reflects on milestone ahead of Bullets showdown

While there was no cinderella ending to Shaun Bruce's 100th game in Kings colours on Friday, with Sydney losing by five points to Cairns, the guard admits it's a night he'll never forget.
From his brother Cam being flown up to the harbour city secretly to video messages from his coaches and teammates and a guard of honour from his mates at WhatAbility, Bruce was blown away by the milestone occasion.
"It was obviously a very special moment for me, especially be a part of a great club like the Sydney Kings," said Bruce, who became the 25h player to chalk up this Kings' milestone,

"While it's never been about me and never will, rather the team, it appreciated all the work club did behind the scenes to make this occasion one I'll never forget - especially doing it in front of our loyal fans because, in my eyes, there's nothing better than playing at Qudos Bank Arena."
The Horsham product admits that his side won't have long to dwell on their first loss of NBL23, as the side head to Brisbane to take on the Bullets from 4pm AEDT on Sunday at Nissan Arena.

"Brisbane is a hungry team, sitting at 0-3 on the season, so we know anything less than our best will be good enough," said Bruce, whose side will be looking to extend its NBL consecutive away wins record to 15.
"Much like Cairns who came in hungry after a loss trying to get their season back on track, Brisbane will be looking to do the same in front of their home fans for the first time this season.
"In the same vein, after Friday's loss, we're going to be just as hungry to return to the winner's circle."
