Bruce confident in Kings' improving defensive identity

Sydney Kings' Shaun Bruce believes his team's ability on the defensive end gives them a chance to win every game they play in.
That was evident on Sunday, when the Hoops Capital side outscored Brisbane 27-8 in the fourth quarter on Sunday, to secure their 10th win of the season.
"Everything with us always starts on the defensive end and getting stops," King #209 Bruce said in an interview with Big Sports Breakfast.
"We're a good team if we can get out on the break and run offensively, which all stems from our defence.
"We know if we produce on that end of the court, we can compete with anyone in this league."
Bruce went on to say after a slow start to the season, his team's chemistry is really starting to come together.
"With a new coach and group, we've had to build chemistry from the ground up and that can be hard when you're playing so many games in a quick space of time without training," the two-time NBL champion said.
"I feel like we've turned the page on that a little bit of late and we've got an exciting finish to the season coming up to make it even stronger."

That includes this Friday's fixture with New Zealand at Spark Arena, tipping off at 5.30pm AEDT.
"This is another big week for us but ever since the FIBA break, they've all been like that, so we're looking forward to the challenge of going back over to New Zealand and getting another win," the guard said.
"We had a good win there earlier in the month, so hopefully we can replicate that on Friday."
