Biography
The New Zealand big man is joining the Sydney Kings for the first time for the 2023/24 season to build on what he's developed, including the last two seasons at the New Zealand Breakers.
After being born in Dunedin, grew up mostly in Southland and with his powerful frame, was a natural to start playing rugby, but as he continued to grow eventually settling at 6'11, soon took up basketball and has turned into quite the imposing centre.
First played in the NZ NBL at the Otago Nuggets in 2013 aged just 15 before joining the Canterbury Rams and then ending up attending college at the University of Washington.
In his four years with the Huskies, ended up playing 132 games and averaging 2.8 points and 3.0 rebounds in almost 13 minutes a game, before returning home for the 2020 NZ NBL season and joining the Franklin Bulls.
Then played in Estonia with Tallinna Kalev/TLÜ in the 2020/21 season before rejoining the Otago Nuggets in 2021, and then joining the New Zealand Breakers as a development player for 2021/22.
In between NBL seasons, helped lead Otago to the NZ NBL championship and then returned to the Breakers, showing encouraging signs in his 11 appearances as part of a team that reached the Championship Series.
Played again with Otago in 2023, was part of the Tall Blacks team at the FIBA World Cup and now is preparing to help the Kings with an NBL championship three-peat.
