MAD school holidays

The Sydney Kings kick-started their off-season interaction these past school holidays with MAD Basketball clinics across western Sydney.

Jason Cadee, Tom Garlepp and Kevin Lisch got things going at Blacktown (July 3-5th). They answered dozens of questions, ranging from personal habits through to career highlights, before getting stuck into drills, including passing, defense and transition. The highlight of the day was when Cadee and Garlepp took it in turns to go one on one with the kids – and you can see snippets of that in the video below.

The camps moved to Bankstown for July 6 and 7th, and once again included Lisch, Cadee and Garlepp but Brad Newley also put his name in the ring on July 7. Newley provided one of the camps’ highlights by accepting and winning a shooting challenge from MAD coach Daniel. The kids loved it, as you’ll also hear in the video.

Penrith had Kevin Lisch all to themselves July 13 and 14 and he didn’t disappoint. He held court with the dozens of kids at the beginning of the session, answering all sorts of questions. We discovered his favourite WNBA player is Candice Parker and Mugsy Bogues was one of his idols growing up.
