So you think you can play? St Felix Primary school in Bankstown certainly thinks so. They were rewarded this week as local boy and Sydney King Jason Cadee brought four of his teammates to the school, bringing the fun and excitement of basketball with them. Following a few drills on the outside basketball court, Jason – along with Brad Newley, Julian Khazzouh, Tom Garlepp and Jeromie Hill – ran dozens of students through dribbling, shooting and passing games.
The players handed out prizes to many of the children, and judged the best fan posters on show. The most laughs were reserved for a game that saw two children dressing in very large Kings uniforms while trying to run up the court, and then shoot. Matilda was a very popular winner.
The team hopes a large number of the children bring their families along to the opening game against the Brisbane Bullets on October 8 at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney Olympic Park. This was the first of a dozen school visits the team will make through the pre-season and on through the summer.
